Iaorana dane, my little family and i from tahiti papara (just close 2 taharuu beachbreak) and i just want 2 say that we like u'r surf and goodluck 4 da contest at "kumbaya" teahupoo. Maybe we'll meet there i don't know how but if it'll happen (i hope so..), i'd like 1 of u'r board 4 my son.

if he does read all this, I think he may be laughing at how some people try to interpretate his point of view on stuff such as competing as I've seen in this topic. but anyway, if someday he replies, I'd like to know what music he listen to before surfing big waves...

bottom line is that we can all agree dane is a great surfer and that he is giving the tour a chance. hes not looking to do terrible or to dominate the tour he just wants to see what happens. if he doesnt do well he can continue surfing great as a free surfer and if he does well then he can continue the tour and see what happens.

Hay, Dylan, I thought I might reply twice like you.....If you don't like my thoughts on Danes “don’t care vibe”. Then you might like Surflines take on Danes power rankings....Quote.."Dane may sink his own battleship time and again, only to realize a decade later that he does care. Surfline said it best.....but this doesnt mean that Dane can't surf....he's still the top 10..I mean top 14 surfers in the world. But some people that surf Ponto Jetty in Carlsbad may think they surf better than Dane.

Eat ****? What happened to “pal” Dylan…? Hay don’t forget Dylan, I compared Dane to Tiger Woods and that’s a big complement. I’m just giving my personal opinion on the “don’t care vibe”. Pro Surfing is an interesting sport….think about it……there is only a top 44 in the world and of that top 44 only about 15 get paid well. And of that 15 only 5 or 6 get paid very well. So you have a better chance of becoming……well let’s see you’re an ozzy…..so you have a better chance of becoming a professional footy player or cricket star than making it to the ASP tour and you could just be a bench warmer and get paid more than a pro surfer. Having said that; I think it’s off color for Dane to say I don’t care how the judges score me and if I loose so be it, because that’s a free surfer talking. I was just suggesting if Dane is going to keep saying I don’t care all the time then he should surf as a free surfer. I think it’s arrogant of Dane to say he doesn’t care when guys like Mick, Taj and Parko are giving it all they got to win the ASP World Cup. The only person I think has the right to say I don’t care, is Kelly Slater, because he already proved himself. By the way Dane Reynolds is a ripper, he is “spot on” as you would say Dylan. So have yourself a Fair dinkum day poofter.

i´m from peru...and i started surfing recently...i have a 5´11..klimax..gabriel villaran model...but i´m sure a need a bigger one....i´m 5´9 tall...and i wonder if you could tell me which size of board would be better for me...thanks..

Dane, you are always telling people you don’t care about winning or losing contests. Then why are you competing? Aren’t you contradicting your words from your actions? It would be like Tiger Woods in Golf saying, “I don’t care if I win before he play’s in the Master’s.” But yet he’s the best golfer. If you really didn’t care about winning or losing contests you should just stop competing and become a free surfer. But then again I think what you are trying to say is, “I don’t care for the media, contests and advertising but I want you to pay me a lot of money to surf. Christian Fletcher at least walks his talk. But I even think he’s a sell out for joining RVCA. I really do think you care Dane, because as soon as you start dropping down the winners latter and your sponsors start pulling out from under your surfboard you’ll start to care.

I thought if you could tell us how do you perform for the contest? If there any work out you do befoure the contest or like a rutine? What kind of music do you hear befoure the heat?
And I wonder if you could tell me whats is the best surfboard for airs?
